Meet the Authors:
Laura Gehl is the author of picture books with humor and heart, including One Big Pair of Underwear, the Peep and Egg series, My Pillow Keeps Moving, and I Got a Chicken for My Birthday. Upcoming releases include Juniper Kai: Super Spy (Two Lions); Judge liette (Sterling); Always Looking Up: The Story of Astronomer Nancy Grace Roman (Whitman); Apple and Magnolia (Walker Books); and Willa's Sleepover (Page Street Kids). Laura loves reading, hiking, travel, and chocolate, preferably combined. She lives in Maryland with her husband and four children.
Lauren Abbey Greenberg is a graduate of the Newhouse School at Syracuse University and the Institute of Children’s Literature. She has been published in various children's magazines and has also written and produced TV spots for Discovery Kids, educational videos for National Geographic, and a film for Mount Rushmore National Memorial. She lives in Maryland with her family and has spent summers in Maine for the past twenty years. The Battle of Junk Mountain is her debut novel.
Kathy MacMillan is a writer, American Sign Language interpreter, librarian, signing storyteller, and avowed Hufflepuff. Her newest book, She Spoke: 14 Women Who Raised Their Voices and Changed the World, features biographies and built-in sound clips, and was co-authored with her best friend, award-winning screenwriter Manuela Bernardi. Kathy is the author of the young adult fantasy novels Sword and Verse (a Compton Crook Award finalist) and Dagger and Coin, both from HarperTeen, as well as the Little Hands Signing board book series (Familius Press), and eight resource books for educators, librarians, and parents.
Michelle Meadows is the author of nine picture books, including Brave Ballerina, Super Bugs, and Piggies in Pajamas -- with more books in the works. Michelle loves creating heart warming stories with rhythm and rhyme. Michelle studied journalism and literature at Syracuse University. She is represented by literary agent Rosemary Stimola of the Stimola Literary Studio. Michelle grew up in Washington, D.C. She lives near the beach in Delaware with her husband.
